The past month has been arduous for Coronavirus related negotiations. Numerous proposals have gone back and forth between Congress and the White House, but the goal of getting a bill done has yet to succeed. One piece of the negotiations has been federal aid to state and local governments to meet various needs, such as COVID tracing and testing, support for schools and childcare, and, the focus of this blog, assistance for states to tackle unemployment insurance (UI) fraud.
The United States in 2019 was the most energy secure it has been since 1970 according to data in the 2020 edition of the annual Index of U.S. Energy Security Risk published by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Global Energy Institute.

WASHINGTON, D.C.—The U.S. Chamber’s U.S.-Japan Business Council (USJBC) announced today that Doug Peterson, president and chief executive officer of S&P Global, has been elected chairman of the USJBC for a two-year term, effective October 27, 2020. Peterson, who has been president and chief executive officer of S&P Global since 2013, takes over the USJBC chairmanship from Chuck Robbins, chairman and chief executive officer of Cisco.
